ROD SHOVELLOR AWARD
This award is named after Rod Shoveller, an outstanding basketball official who exemplified commitment, floor presence, a no-nonsense attitude, and made a significant contribution to the growth of officiating in Nova Scotia.
Criteria:
- An official who demonstrates tremendous potential for growth in officiating;
- Must be a member in good standing with NSBO;
- Must achieve the minimal requirements for Level I officials as identified in the National Officials’ Certification Program; and
- Must demonstrate commitment, integrity, professionalism and enthusiasm towards the game of basketball.

FRANK BALDWIN AWARD
This award is named after Frank Baldwin who demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to basketball and its grass roots development.
Criteria:
- Demonstrated a commitment to the development of basketball officials;
- Demonstrated a commitment to basketball (i.e. coach, player, etc.);
- Served in an executive or administrative capacity and must have supported the initiatives and goals of NSBO in such a way as to make the contributions worthy of special recognition;
- Considered to be a good floor official by local standards;
- Performed a significant length of service;
- Involved in grass root programming.
