Lead official must get to the endline early.
Lead official can work across the lane.
Report fouls in the reporting box and hustle after reporting.
Do not walk through reporting signals.
Do not talk to the crowd during time outs.
Know the three time-out spots/place the ball at the correct spot. We need the horn and whistle at 50 seconds however, with the new rule we now have an attention whistle from the active official just prior to administering the throw in.
Whistle needed before every quarter.
Know the faking foul signal.
Use the proper hit signal.
Use the bounce ball mechanic appropriately.
The 8 second count is optional by rule. Use it.
Apply team officiating if it helps the game.
Use the crossover step –trail.
Know the delayed of game signal in the last 2 mins.
The fifth foul is not a time-out period.
Apply the new FIBA techniques of officiating- maintain proper distance, remain stationary, referee the defense, stay with the play until the end, positioning- open angles and adjustments.
Apply the delay of game warnings.
Offensive endline throw-ins need a whistle and the trail must also raise their hand.
